Overview
Fish oil is the fat or oil that's extracted from fish tissue. It usually comes from oily fish, such as herring, tuna, anchovies, mackerel, and sardine. The main omega-3s in fish oil are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).
The project envisages setting up a refining and extraction unit for fish oil to produce refined fish oil and ethyl ester, the essential sources for Omega-3 Fatty Acids, with significant health benefits. Refined sardine fish oil and fish oil ethyl ester are mainly used in nutraceuticals formulations, food ingredients, and medicines' natural ingredients.
Specific studies substantiate the role of Fish Oil, rich in Omega-3 fatty acid, in our diet for fighting and reducing the risk of:
- Coronary heart disease
